Las Vegas – Sin City Escape

It has been about seven years since I stopped by Las Vegas while on my way to The Grand Canyon, I decided to make a quick weekend getaway to Sin City.

It was a warm and dusty start for the weekend escape.

It was a warm start for the weekend escape.

Bad Luck, the scorching temperature or 99 degree was waiting. The dusty and windy atmosphere of the desert welcomed with its fury. The nostalgic Tropicana was home for a few exciting days.

Very fortunate to have a room with the View.

I always love architecture, regardless whether its composition is of cheap stucco and paint. Something about Man's vision that materialized into reality.

There are a few activities that I can say bring joy to mostly tourists who make up the majority of the ‘active’ side of the city: gambling, shopping, sightseeing, bar/club hopping and buffet!

I am constantly searching for adventures so sightseeing and the food were first and foremost on my thought.

Heart of Vegas - The Strip.

Heart of Vegas – The Strip.

It is quite a contrast from what one sees in a distant frontal view to a close-up look and more interesting yet, inside.

The architecture emanates a feel of Faux composition. Once one gets closer, the evidence is far more compelling as it made up of cheap stucco and design. Inside, in certain Hotel and Casino, the remnants of the 50s and 60s can still be seen such as retro furniture and decco art.

I could never get used to the cigarette smoke!

I had my filled fun. However, there is a special place that I heard about and it is not far away from the Tropicana, This is such a fabulously cool place to have fun and I highly recommend for anyone to go, especially with a date! The Pin Ball Hall of Fame Museum!

It is more than just a museum. It’s a very special game arcade frozen in time.

Pin Ball Hall of Fame

Pin Ball Hall of Fame. I really love this place. It brings me back to a time when I first immigrated to the States when we settled in Arizona. All the pin ball machines work amazingly well.

Well maintained reconditioned Pin Ball Machines.

The powerful kicks, the sound effects, the music, the theme, altogether I can stay and play for hours.

I can’t describe what an exhilarating feeling I had when I saw this place. I didn’t play much at all. I am simply amazed by the retro joy that I felt when I first stepped into the arcade many moons ago. It is the same now….with this Pin Ball Hall of Fame at 1610 E Tropicana Ave, Las Vegas, NV 89119. And it is only 3 miles away from the Hotel.

My favorite was Galaxian (Martian Space Battle), Battle Zone (Tank) and Dog Fight (Air Plane Battle). The strangest thing is, as a Information Technology oriented professional, I do not have a single game installed in my PC or phone let alone playing it. I love this place!

25 cents Pop Corn Machine

A Game Arcade is not called an Arcade unless it has a 25 pennies Pop Corn Machine. How romantic is that? A working 25 cents working pop corn machine!

25 Cents Pop Corn Machine

25 Cents Pop Corn Machine. She is Purty isn’t she? after all these years!

I shall return!

Well, leaving tomorrow so I stayed until the Pin Ball Hall of Fame museum attendant asked everyone to leave at closing. It’s 11 PM.

Until next time, Travel Maximus !
